Microhistory - Quo vadis?

The masterclass with the renowned Canadian microhistorian couple Thomas V. and Elizabeth S. Cohen (York University/Harvard University) forms part of the seminar “The Art of Microhistory”, taught by Dagmar Freist during the 2019/2020 winter semester. Selected publications by the guest speakers, as well as texts by doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers and Master’s students from the Early Modern History Department, will be discussed. The discussions will focus on the current state of microhistorical research, as well as the forms, possibilities and limitations of microhistorical narration.
