Early Modern Studies is very well networked internationally in terms of teaching and research. There are close contacts with the universities of Sheffield, Uppsala and Stockholm as well as the University of Warwick. In the European History master's degree programme, students can currently choose between 15 European universities, all of which have very good early modern research.

Doctoral candidates are introduced to international academic networks at the beginning of their doctorate, and it is not uncommon for the second supervisor of a dissertation to come from one of the partner universities.
