A special focus is on two clinical pictures: Parkinson's disease and acute abdominal complaints. Both are representative of very different ways of diagnosis, treatment and aftercare. New, digital and networked treatment pathways are to be developed, tested and evaluated together with patients and specialists.

The change in the healthcare system is not only considered from a technical perspective. It is seen as a social process in which many people are involved: Citizens, cities and districts, health insurance companies as well as the researchers in the project. Together, new, innovative and needs-orientated forms of care are to be developed.
