Teaching assignments are only required for the independent performance of teaching duties. Teaching in courses can also be undertaken in part by non-Habilitation holders without a teaching assignment if this is done in accordance with instructions, i.e. under the guidance of a professor.

For each lecturer who is not authorised to teach independently but is to offer courses independently, a proposal for the granting of a teaching assignment must be submitted via StudIP in parallel with the registration of the teaching offer, in accordance with the guidelines for the granting of teaching assignments AM dated 26/09/18.

Teaching assignments are reviewed with regard to the suitability of the lecturer, consistency with the course programme, the necessity of the teaching assignment or course for the course programme and the legal framework conditions. The Presidential Board decides whether to grant the teaching assignment.

Teaching assignments are generally issued for the duration of a semester. They can also be issued for up to two semesters for courses that repeat every semester or every year or for a series of courses.

Please enclose the following documents with this email:

• Personal data sheet
• Copies of the university degree certificate, doctorate and, if applicable, habilitation certificate
• Curriculum vitae

The proposals will be submitted to the Computing Science Study Group and the Study Commission of School II for approval.

When the teaching assignment is awarded, an account with an email address will be set up for access to the IT services, such as the StudIP learning management system, the university's W-LAN, the public PC rooms and your workstation will be activated within the "w2kroot" domain.

The official declaration of remuneration for teaching assignments will be returned to the "ComputingScience Office" at the end of the semester.
