Ethical guidelines
DfI policy paper against discrimination and on social responsibility
We act
- We actively assume our share of responsibility for the society in which we live.
- In an interconnected world, challenges can only be solved through peaceful international cooperation. We resolutely oppose any form of nationalism.
- We are committed to ensuring that people are not disadvantaged or defamed because of their skin colour, origin, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
- We are not prepared to tolerate discussions that are fact-free or based on resentment.
What to do in case of discrimination?
Do not ignore and suppress discrimination, but take a stand:
- Create clear conditions and signal that this behaviour is undesirable.
- Document discrimination in writing (especially in cases of sexual harassment).
- Talk about these negative experiences with people you trust, with the student council, with responsible lecturers and also with the responsible counselling centre.
