Adaption to climate change - concept of HanseGrand (HanseKlima)
Hanse Grand is a medium-sized company, which is active in the business areas of water permeable path and road construction (unbound and bound), soil de-sealing, storm water management and coastal and flood protection. The building materials, developed and sold by the company, are of great importance for the runoff of rainwater, the water retention in the soil and thus the suitability of materials for hot and dry, but also particularly, rainy situations. Hanse Grand can therefore offer solutions for adaptation to climate change for different actors in the fields of civil engineering, water resources, coastal and marine protection, soil, agriculture and forestry, transport and transport infrastructure.
Within the project will be tested if and how Hanse Grand is prepared for the current and future business challenges of climate change and what strategy processes must be initiated in the near future. Here, the emphasis is placed both on the entrepreneurial opportunities through the development of new building materials and construction concepts, as well as to avoid risks in their own business activities. A vulnerability analysis will be the basis for the development of an appropriate climate adaptation concept of the recent value-added processes.
The aim of this project is the systematic identification of company-specific opportunities and risks of climate change impacts in order to derive recommendations for action and to integrate into the corporate strategy. Further on there should be implemented first steps for feasibility in product development while customers should be involved in this process.
