In the following, we would like to inform you about how your personal data is processed for the regular distribution of information to you. Please read the following information carefully.

II Data collected
We collect salutation, name, email address and, if applicable, institutional affiliation, address, telephone numbers, affiliation to works and Staff Councils and trade union and, if applicable, party affiliation of elected representatives electronically. The personal data is not linked to social media applications. No further analyses of the data are carried out. The data is currently stored and processed using the "Microsoft Office" software package, the Cobra AdressPluss software and in a Typo3 tool on a secure network drive or server at the university.
III Purposes and legal bases of data processing
The purpose of data collection is to send serial emails or letters to interested persons/institutions to announce and invite them to events and to provide information about projects and scientific surveys that have been carried out. Your data will be processed on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 letter a GDPR.
IV. Recipients of the personal data
The data collected will not be passed on to third parties, but will only be processed by employees of the Office for University and Trade Union Co-operation at Carl von Ossietzky University. Furthermore, commissioned service providers may have access to the personal data as data processors.
V. Transfer of personal data to a third country
A transfer of your personal data to a third country or an international organisation does not take place and is not planned.
VI Duration of storage or retention of personal data
The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected. Your data will therefore be stored as long as you have not revoked your consent to receive invitations and information from the cooperation centre or until warnings about undeliverability of the serial email or letter cause the deletion. Furthermore, the retention periods correspond to the statutory regulations, in relation to business correspondence after six years, in relation to invoices after ten years.

As a data subject within the meaning of the GDPR, you have the following rights

VIII Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
If you are of the opinion that the processing of your personal data violates data protection regulations, please contact the data protection officer of the controller (see above).
