About the project

Working between home and office -
Company regulations and further education

Presentation of the in-depth workshop from 07.12.2021

During the coronavirus pandemic, working from home has become the central place of work for many employees virtually overnight. While a few months ago it was assumed that working from home would increase for a short time, it is now clear that a large proportion of employees will continue to work from home in full or in part in the future. Many employers and employees alike are in favour of working from home.

In light of the experiences of recent months, many companies and institutions are faced with the question of which company regulations have proven successful, what further agreements are needed and what further education and training is useful and necessary to ensure socially and health-compatible working from home. Design issues relating to working from home concern the management of the extended data link between the home office and the workplace as well as the self-organisation of employees, "remote management" for line managers with personnel responsibility or addressing and advising employees working from home through interest groups. The associated challenges and different solutions are analysed in the practical project. The focus here is on the service sector in the north-west region around Oldenburg.

Building on the results of the recently completed future discourse "Digital - Mobile" and the study "prentimo - prevention-oriented design of mobile work", the project starts with an online survey on the implementation status of company agreements as well as further education and training and needs for working from home. Based on this, basic and in-depth workshops will be held on the two fields of action. In addition, best practice examples from companies and institutions on the organisation of home office models will be presented in podcasts, among other things. The project is aimed at the interested public and a broad spectrum of stakeholders. These include employees, interest groups, employers and employers' associations, trade unions, further education institutions and local representatives from the fields of labour, family, equal opportunities, health and economic policy.
