Sculpture
Sculpture
Contemporary art practice is characterised by the fact that it does not specialise in a particular medium or material.
Nevertheless, there is a great deal of interest in craft techniques and traditional forms of material knowledge, and so it is made clear in the teaching of artistic practice with a focus on sculpture that conceptual and material-based approaches are not mutually exclusive. Experimentation, process and a willingness to take risks are just as much a part of this as classical modelling and moulding techniques.
Experimental solutions to artistic problems are tested and fundamental questions about sculpture and space are discussed.
Joint excursions, exercises and observations provide impulses that promote the development of individual skills and an interactive and constructive exchange of ideas.
Freedom and the joy of experimentation should lead to the individual development of one's own artistic practice, which is tested in the exhibition context and also shown outside the university.
