"Speaking from art" - Five teaching approaches for differentially reflective and anti-discriminatory teaching

The OER contains five examples of difference-reflective and anti-discriminatory teaching approaches for art lessons. Examples are presented that make learners aware of the dominant language used in museums and exhibitions, which often makes access to education more difficult.

Extracurricular places of learning such as museums often make access to education more difficult due to the dominant language used. Especially when teaching in these places, teachers should use language- and difference-sensitive teaching methods so that all learners have the opportunity to gain access to communication about art and culture. This OER presents examples of what such methods can look like. The teaching approaches thus offer a range of teaching approaches and methods that provide teachers with the opportunity to utilise difference reflexivity in their art lessons in order to reduce discrimination.
