"There's no bare skin here. But your future!" - This is the slogan on posters advertising the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft's science truck, which can be visited on Sunday, 25 July, 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, on Oldenburg's market square next to the Lamberti Church. The truck is making a stop in Oldenburg at the invitation of ARGE Oldenburg in co-operation with the city. It is intended to show young people who are looking for an apprenticeship or job that science is an exciting subject and that it is worth taking an active interest in your own professional future. The first success: four young people supervised by ARGE designed the advertising campaign for a visit to the Fraunhofer truck.
The truck was designed in 2009 to mark the 60th anniversary of the scientific organisation and provides a glimpse into the future: the exhibition shows developments and innovations in the fields of health, environment, energy, security, communication and mobility. They show which innovations could soon become part of everyday life. In addition, the university will provide information about its training programmes and study opportunities at the Fraunhofer Truck. It presents "hands-on science" with a "laser goal wall shooting" (physics) and exhibits on "maths in everyday life". The Jade University of Applied Sciences presents its degree programmes. The Institute of Hearing Technology and Audiology explains a spatial orientation system with the help of a robot. Further experiments will illustrate the work in the field of hearing research and the new Assistive Technologies degree programme. The "Toy's Company Oldenburg" will also be on site with games and free childcare.
