IMFIT - Innovation network for individualised, model-based hearing aid fitting
Significantly improved communication for hearing-impaired people in their everyday lives through individualised, theory-driven, model-based hearing aid fitting: this is the common long-term goal of the "Innovation Network for Individualised, Model-Based Hearing Aid Fitting" (IMFIT).
This three-year joint project is funded by the state of Lower Saxony with money from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The research partners are: University of Oldenburg (Department of Medical Physics and Acoustics), Jade University of Applied Sciences Wilhelmshaven/Oldenburg/Elsfleth (Institute of Hearing Technology and Audiology) and Hörzentrum Oldenburg gGmbH (also network coordinator).

By interlinking laboratory measurements, modelling and everyday analyses, the influence of individual factors of hearing impairment as well as their interaction in the form of good/poor speech comprehension or listening effort in different acoustic situations is to be investigated in a differentiated manner and the HG adaptation improved.
Project leader TP3 (University of Oldenburg): PD Dr Thomas Brand
Project duration: September 2024 to August 2027
Project partners:
- University of Oldenburg
- Oldenburg Hearing Centre gGmbH
- Jade University of Applied Sciences Wilhelmshaven/Oldenburg/Elsfleth
