IMFIT - Innovation network for individualised, model-based hearing aid fitting
Significantly improved communication for people with hearing impairments in their everyday lives through personalised, theory-driven, model-based hearing aid fitting: this is the shared long-term aim of the ‘Innovation Consortium for Personalised, Model-Based Hearing Aid Fitting’ (IMFIT).
This three-year joint project is funded by the State of Lower Saxony using grants from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The research partners are: University of Oldenburg (Department of Medical Physics and Acoustics), Jade University of Applied Sciences Wilhelmshaven/Oldenburg/Elsfleth (Institute for Hearing Technology and Audiology) and Hörzentrum Oldenburg gGmbH (which also coordinates the consortium).

By integrating laboratory measurements, modelling and analyses of everyday situations, the aim is to investigate in detail the influence of individual factors contributing to hearing loss, as well as their interaction in terms of good or poor speech understanding or auditory effort in various acoustic situations, and to improve hearing aid fitting.
Project Leader TP3 (University of Oldenburg): PD Dr Thomas Brand
