We are the Student council for music. The task of the Student council is to represent the interests of the students. If you have any questions or problems, you can contact us at any time - both during your studies and in advance.
Who makes up the Student council?
The Music Student Council is made up exclusively of students. The members are elected by the students of the subject Music at a general assembly. We all study something to do with music, either in the two-subject Bachelor's programme or in one of the music-related Master's programmes at the University of Oldenburg.
What does the Student council do?
As the Student council, we are the link between the students and the teaching staff. Should problems arise, you can contact us at any time and we will work together to find a solution. Our task is also to represent the interests of music students in the committees of the University of Oldenburg. We currently have student members on the Institute Council for Music, the School III Faculty Council, the Study Commission and the Inter-Faculty Study Commission.
As the university process can sometimes be a little difficult to understand, we are also there for you if you have organisational questions about your studies, examination requirements or your timetable.
We regularly organise events such as recital evenings, werewolf evenings and summer parties for students of the subject of music. We also often support events and concerts at the Institute with our drinks sales, help with the entrance exam week and plan the orientation week for new first-year students every year.
I have a concern about my studies. How can I contact you?
You can contact us at any time with questions, problems, praise and criticism. You can simply send us an email or come along to one of our student council meetings (every Wednesday in the semester at 14:00 in room A9 1-102). We will of course treat your concerns confidentially. However, if you would prefer to contact us anonymously, you can also use our postbox in front of the student council room or our digital postbox.
I would also like to get involved. How can I join the Student council?
If you would like to join us, we would be delighted! Just drop by the next meeting. By the way, you don't need any special prior knowledge to join the student council. Whether you've just arrived at university or are a few years over the standard period of study, we look forward to meeting you!
