Mozart and the Beatles, Edith Piaf, Stradivari's violin, Riemann's music lexicon - music-historical people, events, musical practices or artefacts have been the subject of music theatre for centuries. The Emmy Noether junior research group "Music History on Stage" examines stage events of the 18th-21st century that explicitly refer to music-historical themes and thus combine the elements of music, theatre and historical narrative.
