  • At least once a year, the university management invites guests to a joint coffee round, this time with a presentation by head of department Meik Möllers (standing in the background) on structural changes on campus and how to deal with the energy crisis.

  • Even after the end of their service, alumni stay up to date with new developments at the university.

  • A chat over coffee, cake and pastries.

  • Social reunion with former colleagues.

  • Time to chat with Vice President Jörg Stahlmann (seated on the right in the foreground) or Marion zur Brügge (seated in the foreground), who is in charge of the alumni initiative at the Office of the Chair.

  • Memories are awakened - and new ones captured - at the university alumni get-together.

Stay connected

The initiative of former university employees has repositioned itself by strengthening its organisational team and changing its communication channels - and is delighted to welcome new members.

The initiative of former university employees has repositioned itself by strengthening its organisational team and changing its communication channels - and is delighted to welcome new members.

Claudia Gerken and Bernd Wichmann have recently joined the organisation team. Following the death of Arnd Wagenschein, Wilma Hentschel, Waltraud Alves, Ingeborg Kramer and Dr Peter Haupt are still involved from the previous quintet. The "Alumni Initiative" has also switched its communication from letter post to email, but continues to send invitations by letter on request - especially for members without internet access.

There are a number of activities that allow former colleagues to meet up again and keep up to date with new developments at the university: for example, a lecture on structural changes on campus and how the university is dealing with the energy crisis, at which Vice President Jörg Stahlmann and Meik Möllers, Head of Division 4: Facility management, reported yesterday over coffee and cake in the canteen. A lecture by Dean Prof Dr Hans Gerd Nothwang on the work of School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences is also planned for March 2023.

At least once a year, the university management invites the initiative to a joint coffee round, which focuses on news from the university. In addition to Vice President Stahlmann and around 60 of the 150 members, President Prof Dr Ralph Bruder also attended the meeting in the summer. An annual excursion rounds off the activities.

All former employees of the university are welcome and receive an invitation when they retire.
