It's "Showtime": Diverse art on campus

It has gone somewhat out of fashion in recent decades and yet has lost none of its fascination for many people: cameraless photography. Methods such as the cyanotype or the chemigram use light, chemical reactions and various technical processes to produce photographs. When students from the Institute of Art and Visual Culture discovered and trialled these techniques during the summer semester, they produced many exciting results. The student exhibition "Showtime" presents them - and works in other media such as drawings, sculptures, oil paintings and prints such as etchings or woodcuts - from 5 to 7 July. Video works (here is a teaser) have also been created.

"We are exhibiting the results of experimental works and exercises by our students rather than museum exhibits and invite visitors to discuss the works and artistic experimentation with us and in this way get to know the diversity of art production at the university," says Katja Liebmann, Artistic Associate at the Institute and member of the "Showtime" project team.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on Wednesday, 5 July, from 6 p.m. in the "Prinzenpark" at building A08. Various musical contributions, performances and film screenings of short films will accompany the evening. The exhibition itself is located in buildings A08 and A09 on the Haarentor campus - it will then be open to all interested parties for two days. If you would like to round off the première day with a party, you can follow the invitation of the art student body to the "Polyester" (Am Stadtmuseum 15 / from 10.00 pm).

The exhibition programme includes student projects from the art education programme as well as artistic graduation works and other own works. Students from the Integrated Media, Material Culture and Music degree programmes are also involved.
