Su₂n-Cat-CO₂ Workshop 2026

29–30 September 2026, Oldenburg (Oldb.)

We are delighted to welcome you to the University of Oldenburg for the Su2n-Cat-CO2 workshop organised by the Hybrid Catalysts research group. During this event, we will be addressing pressing challenges in modern chemistry: the development of new materials and technologies for a sustainable future. This workshop is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space as part of the SINATRA funding programme.

About the workshop

Our discussions will centre on innovative approaches at the interface of materials science and catalysis, with the aim of developing novel materials for a sustainable future. The focus will be in particular on:

  • Hybrid materials: the design and synergies of multifunctional nanostructured systems, ranging from organic-inorganic composite compounds to complex inorganic-inorganic hybrid structures.

  • Surface processes: A deep understanding of the chemical processes and mechanisms at solid-state surfaces as the key to the strategic development of (low-dimensional) functional materials.

  • Sustainable technologies: New approaches to solar fuel production, such as photocatalytic H₂ production, as well as innovative approaches to (photochemical) CO activation and utilisation.

This workshop will serve as a platform for intensive exchange between researchers at all career stages from academia and industry. Students are just as welcome as experienced researchers. We particularly invite interested parties from non-academic institutions to participate, to discuss current findings, forge new co-operations and contribute together to sustainable and future-proof chemical technologies.

We look forward to inspiring days and a lively exchange!
