Advise & career counselling as part of the OLTECH graduate school

The Graduate School OLTECH is a central point of contact for young researchers in our collaborating schools/faculties and provides advice on all aspects of doctoral studies and doctoral-related topics.

Various topics can be addressed to us:

  • We offer a range of counselling services at the Graduate School, starting with an initial meeting at the beginning of your doctoral studies or your registration for OLTECH.
  • What needs to be considered at the beginning or end of the doctorate.
  • We advise and mediate in conflicts.
  • We provide support as career counsellors in the transition from the doctorate to an academic or non-academic career
  • We act as a person of trust and will always treat your concerns confidentially.

Ombudsperson at UOL

In matters of good scientific practice, you can turn to a neutral and qualified ombudsperson. He or she also has the task of confidentially receiving any allegations of scientific misconduct and, if necessary, passing them on to the responsible body.

Support for People with Disablilities

The Support Centre for People with Disablilities of the Studentenwerk counsels disabled and chronically ill students and offers advice on their rights and possible support options. Financial support (e.g. through scholarships) is one focus of that counselling. Furthermore, information is provided on countering disadvantages in the library or during stays abroad.

The Support Services for Employees with Disabilities (Schwerbehindertenvertretung) of the university represents the interests of all employees with disabilities and offers them help and support.

All employees with disabilities elect their representatives. Their duties are:

  • support and integration of people with disabilities;
  • representation of their interests;
  • advice and help for people with disabilities.
