Congratulations! Oldenburg-based sustainability expert Bernd Siebenhüner has once again been appointed by the German Research Foundation (DFG) to the German Committee for Sustainability Research (DKN). He will now serve on the committee for another three years.
The DKN is an independent scientific advisory body of the German Research Foundation. It supports sustainability research at both the national and international levels—for instance, by serving as a key contact point for the international research program "Future Earth" and the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP).
The DKN’s objective is to strengthen collaboration and exchange among various academic disciplines and to advance research activities related to climate protection and sustainable development.
Siebenhüner holds the Chair of Ecological Economics at the University of Oldenburg. The scope of his research ranges from climate adaptation and international environmental policy—including Education for Sustainable Development as well as participation and transformation processes—to sustainable land use in Africa.
