eMIR (e-Maritime Integrated Reference Platform)
eMIR is a generic, open communication and service platform that enables a real maritime testing environment in the German Bight as well as a close coupling of virtual simulations with concrete physical testing. The methods and tools for developing and testing highly automated maritime systems are available on the platform throughout the entire development and integration process.
By providing a generic, open communication and service platform, eMIR combines the industry's strengths in monitoring and control technology with an intelligent demonstration platform. It also enables research to better understand maritime systems and provides a powerful virtual and physical testbed for the development, verification and validation of systems/components. Polymorphic, customisable interfaces guarantee fast configuration of demonstration environments and testbeds.
