Training modules

Objectives and structure of the training modules

Training modules are a mandatory part of the Bachelor's degree programme. They offer students the opportunity to

  • to review their career motivation, their career choice and their competences with regard to the professional field and to gain suggestions for the further design of their studies/their further professional training;
  • familiarise themselves with the specific requirements and possible courses of action in relevant occupational fields;
  • to deal in depth with specific problems in a professional field and to apply knowledge and competences already acquired during their studies in a theoretically reflected manner.

As part of the area of specialisation, students complete one or two training modules worth a total of 15 credit points (CP). The training modules combine internships with courses on preparation, supervision and evaluation. Training modules consist of the internship (practical time; 3 to 12 CP) and an accompanying course (3 CP).

Overview of possible training module variants

Students with the further career goal of becoming a teacher at general education schools and students with a non-school career goal can complete training modules in the following variants:

Training modules in the subject of Sports Science

The orientation internship (prx101) and career-related internship (prx106, prx107 and prx108) training modules are coordinated and offered by the individual subjects. For the subject of Sports Science, these training modules are offered in the summer semester.

Students with an extracurricular career goal complete the training modules in professional fields relevant to the degree they are aiming for (in Sport Science, these are the professional fields of sport and health).

Students with a school-based career goal complete the orientation internship in fields of activity outside of school (in the Sports Science degree programme, these should be activities in the professional fields of sport and health). These can be Educational institutions (extracurricular area, e.g. early childhood education), socio-educational or other social institutions, businesses/companies, service and cultural institutions, clubs or similar. organisations, church communities or similar. Institutions. Students with the career goal of becoming a primary school teacher can also complete the orientation internship in a pre-school institution.
