Teaching and studying internationally
There are various options for our students to complete one (or more) semester abroad:
1) As part of the Erasmus programme, there is the possibility of semesters abroad in the subject of Protestant Theology at the following universities:
- Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium)
- University College of Education Vienna/Krems (Austria)

The University of Oldenburg currently has over 200 partner universities in over 60 countries worldwide. Within the ERASMUS+ programme. Regular student and lecturer exchanges take place with these partner universities.

2) In addition, the Institute of Protestant Theology and Religious Education has active study exchange programmes and research cooperation programmes with the University of Haifa/Israel(contact Prof. Dr. Benedikt Hensel), the Hebrew University of Jerusalem/Israel(contact Prof. Dr. Benedikt Hensel).

Summer school programme in Israel
Since 2023, Professor Dr Benedikt Hensel, University of Oldenburg, together with Dr Igor Kreimerman, Hebrew University Jerusalem/Israel - Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies, has been leading an annual summer school programme called "Biblical Archaeology and Regional Studies: Seminar with Teaching Excavation in Hazor/Israel and Excursion to Archaeological Sites".
The summer school takes place in Israel, lasts 3 weeks and is held annually during the summer term holidays. Participation in this summer school is open to all students at the University of Oldenburg.
