Period: summer semester 2015 and winter semester 2015/16

Vision

The focus of this project is the development of a system that automates portfolio optimisation and deployment planning. This process involves analysing historical market and weather data. This forms the basis for creating meaningful market forecasts. On this basis, the system is to create an optimised portfolio for the following day. To ensure that this portfolio can actually be delivered, an optimised deployment plan, i.e. schedules for the individual plants, is created within the scope of their respective flexibility. These systems will communicate their flexibility within a simulation environment using a standardised protocol.

Rough embedding in the system context

In the following illustration, the system to be developed is embedded in its context. It should be noted that the actual execution and technical transfer of the schedules to the individual systems, including possible reactive control, is not part of this project. Furthermore, simulated trading of the created portfolio on the market is also not planned, as the necessary technical interface is not available for this project.

Further details can be found in the final report of the project group.
