The 1st edition of the Winter School Set4MOST ("Modelling, Estimation, and Control using Set-Based Methods: Theory and Applications") was held successfully at Centrale Lille from the 13th to 16th of February 2024.
The objective of Set4MOST has been to provide a comprehensive introduction to set-based methods, particularly interval-based approaches, spanning from theoretical foundations to their applications in various problem domains such as parameter identification, state estimation, and robust control. The corresponding presentations were given by researchers from France, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and Spain.
The aim has been to equip the 36 attending PhD candidates, young researchers, and Masters' students with the knowledge and skills needed to apply set-based methods effectively in their research, engineering, or scientific work, while also promoting these methods as valuable tools in addressing complex and uncertain systems.
Set4MOST has been organized jointly by Dr. Sara Ifqir (Associate Professor at Centrale Lille, France), Dr. Simon Rohou (Associate Professor at ENSTA Bretagne, Brest, France), and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Rauh (Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg). Future editions are planned for the upcoming years. These will take place both in Oldenburg and Brest.
The organizers would like to thank the Franco-German University as well as their respective institutions for providing the funding required for the organization of Set4MOST.
