Programme
You will not only gain insights into the exciting world of science during lectures. You can try out interesting things in many different places on our campus.
For example, have you ever been to an improvisation theatre, done a rally through a library or written with a pen? No? Then you can look forward to an exciting discovery tour.
Book world
from 11.00 to 16.30 in building A14, room 0-031
Welcome to the Children's Campus reading room, a place that will take you into the world of books. Immerse yourself in exciting stories, discover new worlds and be enchanted by the words. Three different readings will also take place here at 11.30 am, 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm. Be there when our lectures bring stories to life.
Green School & Wadden Sea Learning Lab
at 12.00 and 14.00 in building A14, room 1-112
The Green School and the Wadden Sea Learning Laboratory will give you an insight into life in the water. Here you can investigate the topic "Microorganisms in ponds and oceans" with your own experiments.
This is an offer of the Oldenburg Teaching-Learning-Laboratories Green School and Learning Laboratory Wadden Sea.
Off the cuff
from 11.00 to 12.30 in building A09, room 0-018
The music workshop "Off the cuff" shows you a way to make music and even compose without any previous musical training, i.e. without knowing grades or being able to play a musical instrument.
What you want
at 2.15 pm and 4.00 pm in the UNIKUM on stage 2
Adults play at the university! Really? Yes! The improvisation theatre "Wat ihr Wollt" plays stories on stage that have never been told before and will never be told again. Improvisation means: just play, just do it, in the moment... and as children, you are experts at that. Every little word, every little idea of yours will become big on our stage!
University sports
from 12.00 to 16.30 in building S in the games hall and activity room I
University sports offers a number of sporting attractions: Try out an air track, learn to juggle or feel like an astronaut in the aerotrimm. There is also a table tennis table, spikeball and university hockey as well as a slackline for balancing.
Please bring your trainers!
Subject lessons
from 10.00 to 13.00 in the foyer of building A14
Life without WhatsApp: Letters used to be written with a bird's feather. There were no envelopes 300 years ago. Back then, writing paper was folded into parcels. There was a sophisticated system of folding techniques. At the SULab station, you can try out for yourself how to write with a feather and how letters used to be securely closed and sealed.
This is an offer from the Oldenburg SULab teaching and learning laboratory.
Chemistry
from 10.00 to 13.00 in the foyer of building A14
A flame can jump? A gummy bear goes on an underwater treasure hunt without getting its feet wet? And somehow the water has to get into the darn bottle. At ChemOL you can try your hand at simple chemistry and physics experiments, have fun learning about different topics and maybe even make something to take home. Take a little detour into the world of chemistry and carry out exciting experiments.
This is an offer from the Oldenburg ChemOL teaching and learning laboratory.
Physics
from 1.30 to 4.30 pm in the foyer of building A14
Interactive hands-on experiments are offered at the physiXS station. They will show you that there are many phenomena in everyday life that inspire amazement and questions and that can be explained with physics. The examples come from medicine, technology, space travel and from your own kitchen. The physiXS station makes it clear: everyone can do physics!
This is an offer from the Oldenburg teaching and learning laboratory physiXS.
Ethics workshop
from 1.30 to 4.30 pm in the foyer of building A14
Is it fair if a child who helped with the baking gets an extra piece of cake? Is it fair that the female national football players earn significantly less money than the male national players? What do you think is fair or unfair? We want to get to the bottom of this together by building our ideas of justice and injustice with Lego and discussing them together.
This is an offer from the Oldenburg Teaching-Learning-Lab Ethics Workshop.
Computing Science
from 10.00 to 16.30 in the foyer of building A14
From smartphones and video games to ticket machines - Computing Science plays an important role in many areas. But have you ever played the piano on modelling clay? Taught little robots to drive? Programmed with blocks? Here you can get hands-on with Computing Science - come along!
This is an offer of the Oldenburg Teaching-Learning-Lab Computing Science.
Small against big
from 10.00 to 16.30 in the foyer of building A14
You can compete against your parents at the hands-on station of the university's Centre for Lifelong Learning (C3L). You can prove that your parents don't stand a chance against you with small tasks, such as a feeling station or estimation and quiz games.
In addition to the fun factor, you will of course also receive a small gift as a reward for your participation.
Medicine
from 10.00 to 16.30 in building A14, room 1-113
At the Clinical Training Centre, medical students normally learn practical medical skills, and various examination techniques and medical procedures can be tried out, learned and practised. At the Children's Campus, you can slip into the role of the examiner and try out various things, e.g. how to examine an ear, how to care for someone after an accident, how to hold a newborn baby properly and much more. We are also happy to examine cuddly toys and dolls that you bring with you.
Children's rights in action
from 10.00 to 16.30 in the foyer of building A14
Hello, I'm a raccoon and a real adaptability artist. No matter where I live with my friends, we always find our way. I also love to play and accompany you to the children's rights in action: design your own path through the exhibition, because your rights are in the spotlight here. Do puzzles and quizzes with me or listen to and watch stories about your right to privacy. Try out digital apps about your right to protection and help decide what I should be called. Your ideas are needed! Have a chat with our robot and suggest names for me.
Tiny Observatory
from 10.00 to 16.30 in front of the A14 building and in the A14 foyer
The Tiny Observatory is an observatory on wheels that travels through northern Germany and brings the stars to people's homes. It will be a guest at the KinderCampus and show you telescopes that can be used to take photos of the universe, but also to do research. We will show you such photos, but also explain why our night-time light is bad for astronomy and the environment and why this light pollution is becoming an ever-increasing problem. In good weather, we can observe the sun.
Workshop
from 1.30 to 4.30 pm in building A14, room 0-030
Toys of all kinds can be brought along to be repaired or upcycled. These include bicycles, scooters, electrical and digital toys, but also teddy bears, dolls, books and textiles. You will receive advice and support from students or volunteer craftspeople for all repairs and creative ideas, but you will be allowed to do as much as possible yourself and experience that this is not only fun, but also increases the value of your repaired items because you have invested time and patience yourself.
This is an offer of the Oldenburg Teaching-Learning-Lab ATB Werkstatt Technik.
Learning Lab
from 10.00 to 16.30 in the library's Learning Lab
Try out digital tools in the Learning Lab! A somewhat differently designed learning space in the library offers you the chance to experiment and try out digital tools: Whether it's creating images and videos with AI, playing air hockey on the multi-touch table or creating your own little podcast project - come along and we'll guide you through the day.
Library rally
from 10.00 to 16.30 in the university library
There's plenty for adventurers big and small to discover in the library. At the KinderCampus you will find flyers for a rally through our library. Can you find the places in the photos? Look for the stamps between the books.
