DESAM

DESAM - German Foundation for General Practice and Family Medicine

In 2023, the German Foundation for General Practice and Family Medicine, DESAM, which was founded as the "Stiftung Deutsches Institut für Allgemeinmedizin", will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary.

The founding idea from back then, above all the promotion of the subject of general practice and young talent, is still the focus today, namely to promote research, education, training and further education in the field of general practice.

The current tasks of the foundation, whose honorary board is appointed by the DEGAM Presidential Board, are

  • Promotion of young students through the Junior Academy and Summer School
  • coordinating the competence centres in further education
  • coordinating the German Research Practice Networks initiative (together with the Technology and Methods Platform for Networked Medical Research, TMF)

The non-profit foundation relies on cooperation in all fields of work. Not only in the joint Berlin office with DEGAM, but also with the general medical university institutes and their teaching and research practices.

You can find out more about the foundation's work at www.desam.de.

If you are interested, you can also obtain further information directly from the foundation's managing director Edmund Fröhlich. Tel 030/209669829)
