General school internship (ASP)
What is the ASP?
The general school internship (ASP) is the first practical school module prx102 in the interdisciplinary Bachelor's programme at the University of Oldenburg.
Objective of the ASP
The general school internship has 3 main objectives
- Reflection on career certainty:
Can I do this? Do I want to continue doing this? What alternative options are there? - Exploring and reflecting on school as a field of action through participant observation:
What requirements exist at school? How do actors act in schools? - Self-testing in pedagogical action:
What are my strengths? What do I still need to learn? What developmental tasks do I set myself?
Structure of the ASP
The General Teaching Placement is divided into two phases
- The preparatory phase is only offered in the summer semester and consists of a lecture series ( 4 sessions, online) and a seminar (usually held weekly) .
Further information on the preparatory phase - The practical phase takes place in schools (usually after the summer holidays in August/September/October) and lasts six weeks ( five weeks of core placement time, one week of preparation and follow-up).
Further information on the practical phase
Active participation is required during both the preparatory and practical phases!
