Questions about further education

What roles does this further education qualify you for?

Participants gain an understanding of the cross-sectoral rehabilitation care process. They are equipped to assess the key elements of the complex care required by those affected and to develop a tailored care programme. Under the guidance of the lecturers, participants will develop into competent professionals who can have a significant impact on the success of rehabilitation for those affected.

How is the programme structured?

The programme consists of four modules totalling 480 teaching units. The ‘Case Management’ and ‘Interprofessional Communication’ modules each run for 30 weeks. The ‘Social Law’ module lasts 22 weeks. Three fireside evenings will provide you with insights into the topics of rehabilitation, participation and care.

Why is case management important in the social and healthcare professions?

Case management helps to better coordinate complex support and care processes. Many people require services from a variety of organisations, funding bodies and specialist agencies. Without structured coordination, gaps in care, duplication of services or long journeys for those affected often arise. Case managers ensure that support is planned in line with needs, resources are used effectively and those involved are linked together in a targeted manner.

Can I take part whilst working?

Yes, the programme is tailored to working professionals. The content is designed to be practical and can be easily integrated into participants’ own professional lives. Participants can apply case management methods and tools directly to issues arising in their own field of work. This makes the further education particularly suitable for those who wish to expand their counselling skills and handle complex cases in a more structured way in their day-to-day work.

What career opportunities does further education open up?

Further education in case management qualifies individuals to carry out coordinating, advisory and supervisory roles in the social, health and rehabilitation sectors. Potential areas of employment include hospitals, care homes, advice centres, social services, rehabilitation centres, job centres, youth welfare offices, funding organisations and integration support services. The skills acquired are particularly relevant for roles in case management, care coordination, support planning, discharge management, participation management or network management.

What makes this offer stand out?

The University of Oldenburg’s further education programme in Case Management combines academically sound knowledge with a strong practical focus. Participants explore current challenges in social and healthcare professions and reflect on specific case studies and networking situations drawn from their professional practice. The interdisciplinary approach helps them to design individual support processes professionally, improve coordination between organisations and enhance the quality of counselling and care services.
