Legal expertise for AI, robotics and cybersecurity

The programme combines the three modules AI Law, New Technologies Law and Cyber Security Law. It provides legal expertise in all aspects of artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, robotics and big data. Participants learn to categorise risks, determine responsibilities and accompany technological developments with legal certainty. The programme provides the know-how to be able to apply the relevant legal regulations with confidence. The programme can be completed flexibly in one to three semesters and concludes with the internationally recognised Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS). It comprises these three modules:

AI law

The AI law module teaches how to deal with risks such as discrimination or violations of data protection and copyright. Participants are familiarised with key EU legislation and the AI Act in particular. They will be able to derive duties and responsibilities with legal certainty.

Law of new technologies

The Law of New Technologies module provides legal expertise on disruptive technologies such as machine learning, autonomous systems, IoT and robotics. It highlights current legal issues and provides specialist knowledge for anyone who wants to accompany current technological developments with legal certainty.

Cyber security law

The Cybersecurity Law module provides an overview of current threats and the complex regulatory structure surrounding cybersecurity. Participants are familiarised with key EU regulations such as NIS-2 and are able to put them into practice.

Who is the programme aimed at?

The programme is aimed at professionals working in the IT, telecommunications or media sectors, for example. It teaches the skills needed to position yourself as a specialist in AI law, cyber security and the legal aspects of new technologies in companies or as a freelancer. The module is aimed at:

  • Lawyers
  • Business economists and business administrators
  • Computing scientists with legal knowledge

Knowledge of law, business administration or IT is an advantage.

The further education is fully credited in the part-time Information Law degree programme if the admission requirements are met. This means you can start your Master's degree programme without enrolment!
