Research focus

Structural investigation of science teacher training in Germany and leading PISA countries. The focus here is on the implementation of PISA-relevant competencies such as scientific literacy, nature of science and media and information literacy. In addition, the development of adaptation approaches from leading PISA countries is a further objective. This includes the development of a concept for peer counseling based on Japanese Lesson Studies.

JSPS Scholarship

Melina Doil, was in Kagoshima in September 2023 on a JSPS scholarship. There, she had the opportunity to get to know the structures of teacher training and science teaching in Japan. She was also able to establish international contacts with colleagues at Kagoshima University.
