Educational counselling
Education and recognition for migrants and refugees in pedagogical fields of action
Central contact point for counselling for higher and highly qualified third-country nationals with a focus on education.
The counselling service
If you need comprehensive, targeted and appropriate counselling on individual options for further development or the acquisition of new educational qualifications, we can work with you to examine what your educational path here in Germany could look like.
The content of the counselling
On the basis of detailed discussions, we will record your educational goals, the qualifications, experience and skills you have acquired to date and thoroughly examine your supporting documents. Our counselling also includes the presentation of educational options in the pedagogical field tailored to your competences, such as: adaptation courses, admission requirements, forms of training and study. By examining your existing qualifications, we may be able to recognise your qualifications.
Based on this information, we will plan your educational path together, taking into account your personal goals and life circumstances. In addition, the next steps will be documented in writing and in a language-appropriate manner. Together we will then consider how to plan and implement the next steps (e.g. initial joint contact with relevant organisations). Finally, there is a joint review of the results.
The counselling concept
Counselling can take place at the University of Oldenburg or at your premises. If possible, the counselling can also be conducted by telephone or video conference. It is important to us that we respond to your circumstances and work together in a way that is purposeful and understandable for you. Your personal concerns take centre stage for us.
Counselling is free of charge and may be provided in several languages.
Documents for counselling
-
Checklist Here you will find a list of documents that you should bring to the counselling session, if available. If individual documents are not available, this is not an exclusion criterion for the consultation.
