Since the 2023/24 winter semester, the professorship of ‘Migration and Education’ has been headed by Prof. Dr Ayça Polat under its new title, ‘Social Pedagogy in a Migration Society’.

Educational practice is fundamentally affected in many respects by the dynamics of difference within a migration society. It is not only established practices and forms of institutionalisation in educational work, but also educational self-conceptions and programmes that reveal their precarious status in the context of the diversity of ethnic and cultural affiliations and inequality that cannot be justified democratically.
