Since the winter semester 2023/24, the professorship "Migration and Education" has been headed by Professor Dr Ayça Polat under the new denomination "Social Pedagogy in the Migration Society".

Pedagogy is fundamentally affected in many ways by differences in migration society. Not only familiar practices and forms of institutionalisation of pedagogical action, but also pedagogical self-conceptions and programmes become visible in their precarious status under conditions of the diversity of ethnic-cultural affiliations and democratically non-legitimisable inequality.
