Co-operation between university and school (MoU)
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU)
The University of Oldenburg and the schools in our education region can enter into co-operation partnerships. The aim of these partnerships is to improve the quality of teacher training and further education as well as teaching practice in schools.
The cooperation partnership is formalised in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The aim is to utilise the institutional offers and structures as well as the potential and expertise of the university and school in partnership in order to professionally develop subject-related didactic and/or educational research and developments on the university side and teaching ideas, concepts and methods on the school side.
Areas of co-operation
The collaboration between the co-operation partners covers the following areas:
- Surveys and surveys that have a potential benefit for schools in particular and include research work with the option of publication as well as for student examination and credits in accordance with applicable legal regulations, by UOL academic staff or UOL students.
- Teaching trials and empirical support in the context of didactic or educational research and development projects at the UOL.
- Support and scientific monitoring of school developments with reference to specific practical needs of the school.
- (Further) development and testing of concrete teaching materials (exhibits, experiments, work equipment, digital media) and teaching-learning sequences created at school or at the UOL (design-based development and research).
- Opening up schools for students and teachers to observe.
- School excursions of classes or groups of pupils to the UOL for the purpose of supplementing school offers and professionalising prospective teachers.
- Proportionate support for the specialised work of students in schools.
Application areas and limits
The MoU formulates the framework conditions for the above-mentioned areas of cooperation.
Possible detailed rules and specifications (e.g. distribution of tasks between the co-operation partners, insurance law issues, terms of use for premises, liability issues) within the co-operation cannot be covered by a framework format, but must be clarified in separate individual agreements if necessary.
Entry into force and term
The cooperation between the partners is agreed for a period of 5 years. The partnership may continue beyond this period or be terminated prematurely. However, the co-operation partners undertake to complete ongoing measures.
The existing agreements are represented on the DiZ website.
