What is behind it?

  • ENDSPURT has existed since the summer term of 2007.
  • The idea and initiative for FK II came from Dr Hans Fleischhack.
  • The Bologna Process led to a reorganisation of degree programmes.
  • These and other changes made the initial situation of many students more complex.
  • In times of transition, the difficulties and the need for counselling for students increase.
  • Similar projects have been set up at School I, III, IV, V and VI.
  • They work together with the ZSKB, the PBS and other student counselling centres.
  • The main aims are to help students return to their studies despite the complex study situation and to support them in successfully completing their degree.

Final spurt programme

The final spurt programme of School II

ENDSPURT is a special programme for students who have experienced delays during their studies. ENDSPURT was created to support long-term students in continuing and completing their studies.

Students often face (unplanned) obstacles, such as financial problems, illness, exam nerves or a change in family circumstances. This makes the study situation more complex and things do not go as planned.

The aim of ENDSPURT counselling is to make it easier for students to return to or continue their studies. ENDSPURT helps with (re-)orientation within the university and the degree programme and supports you in planning your further studies.

Who is addressed?

Students of School II from all degree programmes (Bachelor, Master, etc.),

  • who have exceeded the standard period of study,
  • for whom the long duration of study or re-entry is a problem,
  • and who want to find a solution with the help of ENDSPURT.

Our offer for you

Our programme of individual counselling and events supports long-term students in their next steps towards a degree.

Individual counselling

Every study situation is unique and so are your concerns and needs. This is why our ENDSPURT support at School II also focuses on individual counselling in one-to-one meetings. We discuss your personal study situation, challenges and goals in order to then concretise solutions and support their implementation in further follow-up meetings. Together we can analyse your study progress to date, work out achievable study goals and draw up timetables. Further information can be found under "Counselling sessions".

Central counselling services (outside School II)

You can obtain counselling and information from various contact points and contact persons at the University of Oldenburg - depending on what specifically concerns you and what you need in order to find support for your study situation. The challenges and solutions for your study situation often lie at different levels. You are therefore welcome to get in contact with all the contact points and contact persons relevant to you - we will be happy to support you. Under "Tips and links" you will find some helpful centralised offers.
