Selection strategies
The two lectures in ger033 (BM3) and ger771/ger800 (MM7) provide you with an overview of all areas of competence in German teaching; in the case of ger033 (BM3) you will be taught the basics of subject didactics, in the case of ger771/ger800 (MM7) research perspectives (also for conceivable Master's thesis projects) are opened up to a greater extent. The two compulsory courses of ger242 and ger246 (AM4) cover the core areas of German teaching (see above). Against this background, you have two basic options for selecting your courses (to the extent that this is possible at all):
Strategy a) cover each of the four areas of competence beyond the lectures, in which you are, after all, only given an overview knowledge, by attending further courses.
Strategy b) Repeat certain selected areas of competence and thus study them in depth, possibly following up with a final thesis.
In conclusion, it should be emphasised that there is no better strategy, both have their justification and can be useful. If you are unsure about one or the other, please come to our office hours for a consultation.
