Oldenburg Research Centre for Children's and Youth Literature
The Oldenburg Research Centre for Children's and Young Adult Literature (OlFoKi) is an interdisciplinary association that coordinates academic activities on children's and young adult literature at the University of Oldenburg. It sees itself as a cross-institute and cross-faculty research association, which provides an interface for scientific discussions on the subject of 'children's and young adult literature'. OlFoKi's tasks include, for example, planning, organising and holding conferences or working with the city of Oldenburg as part of the annual children's book fair (KIBUM).
The research centre has existed since 1997 and emerged from many years of research and exhibition activities at the University of Oldenburg as part of the Children's and Young People's Book Fair (KIBUM) since 1979. The research centre promotes interdisciplinary and culturally oriented research into children's and young people's literature, which examines its subject matter in the context of cultural and media developments. This also includes the didactic and educational contexts in which children's and young adult literature is traditionally situated.
