About the person / career
Alexander Graf Rachut is the founder of fennec. Rechtsanwaltskanzlei and works as a lawyer, business mediator and legal IT specialist. He advises and represents national and international companies, NPOs and public clients on issues of digital law.
Before founding fennec., Alexander Graf Rachut worked as Head of Legal at an internationally recognised science academy, as Head of Product & Journey at a social start-up in the DACH region and at an internationally renowned deep-tech company.
In addition to studying Law at the University of Passau, Alexander Graf Rachut also worked as a private tutor and web developer. He also completed a postgraduate degree in legal informatics there. During his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Munich, he also completed the "Munich Training Programme for Business Mediators (Eidenmüller - Hacke - Fries)".
Together with other co-initiators of the legal tech and legal design project "i4u.eu", Alexander Graf Rachut was honoured with the Financial Times Innovation Award in the category "Innovative Lawyers Collaboration".
Main areas of work
Alexander Graf Rachut specialises in digital law, at the intersection of IT law, intellectual property and industrial property law. His clients include companies and start-ups from the tech and digital sector as well as public clients such as research institutes.
In addition, he is particularly active in the area of fundamental rights protection and supports various social start-ups and non-profits through targeted pro bono advice, including as part of the UPJ e.V. pro bono network.
Alexander Graf Rachut is also a member of various non-profit and legal organisations, including GRUR (German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property), the IPDR Forum (Munich IP Dispute Resolution Forum) and DAVIT, the working group for IT law within the German Bar Association.
