Details of the degree programme
How is the Master's programme structured?
The programme combines traditional management skills with the know-how for successful innovation management. You will take eight modules (90 CP): three core modules for solid management knowledge, three profile modules for individual specialisation and one foundation module. The programme concludes with a preparatory online colloquium and the Master's thesis.
These modules, each with 10 CP, serve to build a profile:
- Fundamentals of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (compulsory)
- Methodical Invention and Product Development (compulsory elective)
- Innovation Cooperations and Sustainable Market Transformation (compulsory elective)
- Sustainability through Innovation and Entrepreneurship (compulsory elective)
- Start-up Economics / Entrepreneurial Ecosystems (compulsory elective)
- Legal protection for innovations (compulsory elective)
- Research Methods (compulsory elective)
- Financing and Investment in Innovation Management (compulsory elective)
- Professionalisation module with five freely selectable skills training courses
Which learning formats are used?
The modules are self-contained subject areas and can be taken in any order you choose. You decide how many modules you complete per semester - and therefore the pace of your studies. There is no minimum number of modules per semester, nor is there an obligation to complete the degree within the standard period of study.
Competence training
Mastering professional challenges requires not only professional qualifications but also personal skills. You can train these specifically in our compact training formats.
Five skills training courses (2 credit points each) are combined to form a compulsory elective module (known as a "professionalisation module").
Personal support in every study module
You will receive personal support throughout the entire module duration of around 26 weeks: Our lecturers and mentors will support you individually. Together with the lecturers, you will make your business ideas marketable. You will benefit from their academic expertise and practical experience. Small groups ensure optimal support.
Learning alone in front of the computer? Not with us! You will primarily study on the virtual campus C3LLO and exchange ideas with fellow students there. You will also learn and discuss together in online workshops or at compact on-site events and develop ideas and projects.
Module process: online and on site
Our concept, specially developed for part-time learning, combines online and face-to-face phases to create a flexible and practical degree programme. You learn in a mix of self-directed work, live impulses from lecturers, digital learning modules and online tasks with direct feedback - anytime, anywhere and practically networked.
Competence-orientated teaching and testing
The knowledge acquired in the module is primarily applied, consolidated and further developed by working on real projects from your everyday professional life. It can often be transferred directly into your everyday professional life.
The course certificate is integrated into the module during the course of study; there are no additional written exams or comparable exams. The marking can consist of a presentation, a project report, a seminar paper or a portfolio, for example.
