Department of Internal Medicine - Oncology
The University Clinic for Internal Medicine - Oncology at Pius-Hospital Oldenburg treats around 2,500 patients with tumours every year.
Tumour patients are treated here on an "interdisciplinary" basis right from the start. Radiotherapists and haematologists-oncologists work hand in hand in an interdisciplinary clinic centre. Patients with haematological/oncological diseases are treated here as well as patients with oncological diseases who are receiving inpatient treatment. There is also a day clinic for the outpatient care of patients.
The main areas of treatment include lung cancer and all tumours in the chest area, breast cancer or gynaecological tumours, stomach, pancreatic and colon cancer as well as bowel cancer and pancreatic cancer. Another focus is the treatment of neuro-oncological tumours, which are treated in co-operation with the Radiotherapy and Radiation Oncology Clinic and the clinics at the Evangelical Hospital.
