Report on an orientation internship in the Bachelor's degree programme Economics Education/Politics-Economics

Please note that the completed form"Bescheinigung Orientierungspraktikum/berufsfeldbezogenes Praktikum" (including proof of completed internship from the company) must be submitted with the internship report (download forms here).

The internship report should include the following points:
- About the internship company and company constitution
Type of company (craft enterprise, industrial enterprise, ........), legal form, co-determination regulations, employees, academic appointments in the company, occupations in the company. - The company in the region
Regional significance of the company (economic, social, ......), relationships between the company and other companies in the region, the region as a location, ........ - The operational performance process with special consideration of the marketing concept
Procurement, production, sales, marketing objectives, marketing instruments (implementation and use). - Formal and informal organisation
Formal organisation: structural and procedural organisation, organisational change
Informal organisation: working atmosphere, management styles, groups in the company, group relationships - Vocational training in the company
Which training occupations, form, content and requirements of training. Workplace analysis
The workplace analysis should be carried out on the basis of a specific work task or a specific business transaction.Workplace analysis:
- Work person (academic appointment, qualification),
- Work task (order to be carried out at the workplace),
- Input (information, materials, work plan, etc.),
- Operating resources (equipment, machines, tools, work areas),
- Work process (sequence of work steps),
- Environmental influences (physical, psychological, social).

- What expectations did I have of the company?
- What did I gain from the insight into this company?
- Are further internships planned to make a final decision?
- Is the teaching profession still favoured?
- What can insights into other professional fields bring me later as a teacher ?
Appendix
Possible questions for exploring the professional field:
- Which economic facts of the company are employees confronted with (e.g. costs, revenues, accounting, rationalisation measures, productivity, profitability, ...)?
- Do employees have an understanding of these issues?
- Are there in-company or external training programmes? If yes: Which topics are offered? Who organises the further education?
- Could there be a field of activity in the company for a Bachelor's graduate in Economics Education?
- ...
Note: Instead of the orientation internship/professional field-related internship, the examiner or Examinations Office can take into account a completed apprenticeship in a State-recognised training occupation (crediting by the Examinations Office!), at least three months of full-time work or a three-month full-time internship in companies or other institutions that took place no more than six years ago. - See form
