Dr Clémence Schupp-Maurer

Clémence Schupp-Maurer is a research assistant in the Cultural History of Music at the University of Oldenburg.
She completed her studies in France in the field of cultural mediation and cultural management (BA) and in theatre studies (MA). From 2016-2022 she was a research assistant in the Emmy Noether junior research group "Music History on Stage" (Head: Prof Dr Anna Langenbruch). She completed her doctorate on music history and gender constructions in popular music theatre using the example of historical chanson and jazz singers at the University of Oldenburg in 2024 (published by Transcript-Verlag in 2025). During her doctorate, she was supported by a scholarship from the Mariann Steegmann Foundation and the Research Centre Music and Gender at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media.
