"Beats'n'Tweets" is the title of an open-air concert at which five student music groups will present themselves on the Haarentor campus of the University of Oldenburg on Thursday, 30 June at 6.00 pm. On the lawn between buildings A10 and A7 (Ammerländer Heerstraße 69), they will offer a wide-ranging programme in a summery atmosphere.
This is the third concert organised by the Institute of Music in co-operation with the Universitätsgesellschaft Oldenburg e.V. (UGO), a friends' association for music education at the university. Admission is free. Prof. Dr Susanne Binas-Preisendörfer and Jannika Olesch will lead through the programme.
- The 14-piece soul and funk band "Better Call Soul!" under the direction of Peter Janssen, covers well-known soul music titles and supports them with rock elements.
- In the "e-beat Ensembles", four students under the direction of Axel Fries play stylish electro beats and are accompanied by generative video projections that were created as part of a seminar.
- Using only voice and bass, the duo "Me & The Boy " give songs from the 80s, 90s and today a new, special charm.
- The trombone quartet "Trombastic" proves that a lot is possible with these deep-sounding instruments: from modern songs and baroque sounds to children's songs.
- With "unplugged", the name says it all: 13 musicians developed songs as part of a seminar, which they present without microphones or speakers using only the volume of their voices.
