KinderUniversität: What is freedom?

Freedom - a short word for a big topic. The next KinderUni lecture on Wednesday, 14 March at 4.30 p.m. will give young students a chance to find out.

Philosophy professor Dr Myriam Gerhard will be looking for answers to the question "What is freedom?" with the eight to twelve-year-olds. And this much can already be revealed: There are plenty of answers and even more questions: When do you feel free? And is it the same for everyone? Is it freedom when it's always a holiday? Or does being free mean that you get up every day as and when you feel like it? Is Pipi Longstocking free because she makes her own rules and is firmly convinced that 2 x 3 = 4? Who knows, maybe she'll come to the lecture and say something about it herself. In any case, it will be an exciting journey into the world of philosophy.

Tickets (2 euros) for the lecture are available from Nordwest Ticket GmbH on 0421/363636 and 01805/361136 (14 c/min.) as well as from the NWZ offices.

Admission to the lecture centre on Uhlhornsweg is from 4.00 pm. Accompanying adults can follow the event as usual on a screen in the foyer of the building. The Malteser Hilfsdienst will provide security on site.

If you would like to familiarise yourself with the topic of the lecture now, you can do so in all Oldenburg district libraries and in the youth library (Peterstraße). Special book tables have been set up here.
