Historical feudal relationships between German and Slavic

Background

The starting point for this focus is the research project on German loanwords in Polish, which was completed in 2010. The dictionary of German loanwords in the Polish written and standard language created as part of this project documents how the vocabulary of Polish reflects and develops the 1000 years of Polish-German relations.

In cooperation with the Institute for the German Language, further projects have been and are being carried out to analyse borrowings from German in Eastern Slavic languages and in dialectal varieties of Polish.
