As a systematic theologian, I thematise the 'theological places' (loci theologici) in connection with the glocal context. Systematic theology (dogmatics/ethics/philosophy of religion) must constantly examine its own approaches self-critically. I am particularly interested in allowing other perspectives from outside Europe to be discussed and bringing them into critical dialogue with the familiar ones. In this respect, I am in favour of an inter-/transcultural systematic theology. The adverbial use of inter-/transcultural expresses my fundamental attitude of thinking, speaking and acting theologically from and in connection with other contexts, denominations, traditions, forms of expression and organisation, disciplines. Post-colonial theories, decolonisation discourses, critical social theories, global crises, polarisation tendencies in politics and society, power claims in science, etc., constantly challenge me theologically to critically question my perspectives and to enter the 'third space' (Homi Bhabha) in order to constantly renegotiate and explore the classical 'theological places' of Christian faith in a plausible and relevant way.
... and otherwise!
As a former competitive athlete and trained actress, I understand the body/physicality not only as a carrier of knowledge, but above all as an epistemologically productive source.
We primarily experience our environment through our senses, perceiving it differently (more attentively), directly and up close. My time in Latin America, the encounter with phenomena in Christianity that were foreign to me, made me realise the absolute importance of context and culture for faith and religion. It is not the concept, but physicality and materiality that constitute the context of origin and lay the ground plan of faith and knowledge, and consequently the framework of language and understanding in our interactions.
