"The Book of Jeremiah as History and Story: Theological Reimagination in the Shadow of Empires and Exiles."
The work takes up the long-observed but rarely solved problem of the book's multifaceted theology and attempts to explain it against the backdrop of changing social dynamics caused by geopolitical events. To achieve this, a solid historical reconstruction is required, drawing on historical sources, archaeological data and other indicators from the ancient Near East (e.g. ancient prophecies as political propaganda [Mari, Assyrian and other such texts]). Against this geopolitical backdrop, the project emphasises the changing perspectives on the Babylonian exile, the first Golah community and the diaspora throughout the book of Jeremiah.
