The University Archives Oldenburg cordially invites you to the spring conference of the VdA Section 8 at the University of Oldenburg from 13 to 15 March 2024. We have put together a varied programme under the motto "Everything but files!". For further information please refer to the programme folder (PDF).
Registration deadline was Wednesday, 7 February 2024.
Conference fees:
- VdA members 25 euros
- Non-members 30 euros
- Students/pensioners/apprentices 15 euros
Invoices with account details will be sent out by the University Archives shortly after registration. The fees collected will be used for catering during the conference.
Venue and arrival
Theconference venue is the library hall in the Library and Information System (BIS) of the University of Oldenburg (Uhlhornsweg 49-55, 26129 Oldenburg). The BIS is marked in red on the map.
You can reach the BIS by bus from Oldenburg main station with the lines
- 306 "University"
- 310 "Wehnen/Famila Centre"
- 324 "Infanterieweg"
If you are travelling by car, take the A28 from the Oldenburg-Ost motorway junction in the direction of Emden/Leer. Leave the motorway at the Haarentor exit and turn right at the traffic lights onto Ammerländer Heerstraße. At the second set of traffic lights (after approx. 800 metres), turn left into Uhlhornsweg.
Parking is available in the BIS underground car park (entrance via Uhlhornsweg 55) and the A55 car park (entrance via Haarenfeld and Uhlhornsweg).

Numerous hotels and guesthouses are available for your overnight stay. Please book individually at the respective accommodation.

Supporting programme on 13 and 14 March
Participation in the supporting programme on 13 and 14 March is only possible after pre-registration. Please take this into account when registering for the conference.
The number of places on the three optional guided tours offered on 13 March is limited.
