Tasks and responsibilities
The University Archives uses its documentation profile to identify analogue and digital documents of lasting value and takes over selected documents as archive material for the University Archives Oldenburg on the basis of the Lower Saxony Archive Act.
These official holdings are supplemented by the acquisition of documents from individuals, societies and associations from the university environment as well as documentation relating to the university (photos, posters, flyers, audio and film documents, etc.).
The archival materials are arranged in a systematic collection structure(Tectonics.pdf), which reflects the organisation and structure of the University of Oldenburg, and recorded in our database. In this way, information on relevant archive materials can be quickly made available to different user groups within and outside the university.
