Good academic practice
(Commission and ombudsman system)
Scientific integrity and adherence to the principles of good academic practice are indispensable prerequisites for scientific work that seeks to advance knowledge for the benefit of society. The principles of good academic practice are based on the 2019 guidelines of the German Research Foundation (DFG). The application and dissemination of these principles, including their discipline-specific variations, must be ensured within the context of scientific research and teaching.
Every person engaged in academic work bears responsibility for ensuring that their own conduct complies with the standards of good academic practice and is accountable for this. The teaching of the fundamentals of good academic practice begins at the earliest possible stage in academic teaching and research training.
