The team from the Chair of Applied Artificial Intelligence (AAI) at the University of Oldenburg is one of the winners of the XPRIZE Rainforest competition. Together with the "Brazilian Team", Dr Thiago Gouvêa and Hannes Kath took third place. Using AI-supported methods for bioacoustics and machine learning, the team identified over 400 species and provided innovative approaches for analysing biodiversity in the rainforest. This success illustrates the contribution of AAI research to the conservation of biodiversity and the use of modern technologies in nature conservation.
